Year 9 K. Willock

The students won the poster section of the competition and came overall runners up in the Liverpool heat.

Science Competition
The subject of the poster was "Nobel Prizes in Chemistry from 1901 to 1966". Pupils had to look at the various Nobel Prizes awarded during this period and choose one year that interests them most. They had to present the research that led to the prize being awarded at a level accessible to them.

Our students chose Marie Curie who won a Nobel Prize for chemistry in recognition of her services to the advancement of chemistry by the discovery of the elements radium and polonium, by the isolation of radium and the study of the nature and compounds of this element.

The pupils also had to work as a team to complete a practical assessment and completed individual examinations.

Well done girls!
