On the first to the second off April 18 year ten students completed their Bronze D of E expedition as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award. They triumphed over terrible weather to successfully travel self-sufficiently 20 miles over two days carrying with them all their food and sleeping equipment as well as a good dose of good humour and a lot of mud. They successfully navigated around the countryside of Lancashire in the forest of Bowland close to Clitheroe and did so with a really good "can do" attitude.
They showed all the skills which make D of E such a highly respected award. They showed great team work, determination and character - especially when cooking some of their meals. The girls are now working to complete the rest of their award through their Physical, Skill and voluntary activities that they have been working on for the past 3 - 6 months.
