Broughton Hall High School - One Heart, One Mind
Mercy Pilgrimage 2019
Before breaking for the summer five of our Year 12 Sixth Form students accompanied by Miss Grogan and Miss Bennett embarked on a trip to Mercy International in Dublin, for the fifth biennial secondary school Young Mercy Leaders Pilgrimage. The programme is designed for Mercy students to experience together the riches of the Mercy story before returning to daily life better equipped to be leaders in their schools and world. The Pilgrimage was organised by the Mercy International Centre, located in the original House of Mercy built by Catherine McAuley before she founded the Sisters of Mercy.

While in Ireland, our students participated in breakout sessions, heard keynote speakers from around the world and discussed justice & peace issues. Students had the opportunity to grow in faith, and explore the Mercy mission as well as the life of Catherine McAuley. Through presentations, discussions, reflections, and prayer, students developed an understanding of the history and charism of Mercy, and shared the experience with students from other Mercy schools across the globe.
