Art Exhibition 2022
The Art, Photography and Design department recently held an exhibition of Year 11 GCSE and Year 13 A level work in the striking space of the convent conservatory. After being unable to hold an exhibition for the past couple of years due to covid we wanted to put on a showcase to celebrate our students who, despite having a tough couple of years, still managed to produce some spectacular work.
Students, parents, staff and governors joined us on the Monday’s opening night and the exhibition has remained open during this week for pupils to view. We hope that those who have had chance to view the exhibition enjoyed seeing the work on display and a well done to all of our GCSE and A level students on completing their courses.
Historical Trivia
It was quite fitting for our exhibition to take place in the convent given the historical connection the convent has to art, Broughton Hall was built as a home for Gustav Christian Schwabe. Gustav was a keen collector of contemporary art and we feel he would have been happy to know all these years later that art was still being featured in the home he inhabited. Below we have two interesting photo comparisons showing how Broughton Hall convent looked in its early years to modern day featuring our exhibition.
