McLaren Technology Centre Visit
On Wednesday 29th September our four finalists of the CyberFirst Girls Competition, ran by GCHQ's National Cyber Security Centre, were invited to a post final celebration at McLaren Technology Centre.
In May 2021, our pupils competed against over 6500 other pupils to secure their place in the final. They came 8th in the UK and were crowned the best all girls state school!
On Wednesday they were given the opportunity to travel to McLaren, here they listened to talks from inspirational people within both the cyber security domain and in engineering. They then competed in a mini challenge in two teams, working with the other schools they were originally competing against. Next was a tour of the McLaren Technology Centre which showcased what the company has achieved, and the girls were able to see McLaren's race cars up close, (Miss Games was the most excited member of the school for this section of the day!) Finally a lovely afternoon tea for everyone which we definitely all enjoyed.
Congratulations to the girls, you should be so proud of yourselves and what you've achieved. Broughton Hall is so proud of you!
Thank you to GCHQ and McLaren for the most amazing day!!
